LiveClimbComp was used on a trial basis at the 2019 USA Climbing Youth National Sport Championship held at Reach Indoor Climbing and Fitness. A Chief Judge Dashboard was built for to monitor the competition and manage judging issues.
- 3 categories were scored live throughout all 3 rounds.
- 5 categories were scored live for finals.
Overall it was a success. We gained valuable feedback from the judges who used it.
- Internet access in a crowded area is challenging. This challenge was solved by using Wifi hotspots dedicated to only the judges.
- Interface tweaks were made to streamline score entry.
- Several security methods were trialed. Trade-offs between security and ease of access were noted.
